The Company
The Cache Valley Civic Ballet (CVCB) consists of about forty dancers from the Northern Utah region. Company members must audition annually. The Junior Company consists of dancers from age 11 to 15, with apprenticeships available. The Senior Company has dancers ages 15 and above who have achieved greater performing ability.
The Junior Company is a great opportunity for younger dancers to gain experience in performing and to increase in strength and skill. The Junior Company corp performs in The Nutcracker as soldiers, in Waltz of the Flowers, and in other variations.
Dancers in the Senior Company perform leads in the ballets and also in the Corp de Ballet. The Nutcracker's snow scene, and most of the Act II variations are performed by Senior members.
Additional parts in The Nutcracker and other ballets are filled through public auditions. Many people in the community have filled roles as children, adults, or character parts.
The CVCB Company is a civic organization, open to all serious ballet dancers from any school. Students interested in performing with the CVCB in upcoming productions are encouraged to audition for the CVCB company during public auditions, which are announced annually.
